House Democrats were called to order Wednesday afternoon after losing their minds when Florida Republican Party Rep. Kat Cammack said she wanted to split the GOP while “drinking alcohol, eating popcorn, and using blankets” in the Capitol.
“They want us divided. They want us to fight each other. That was made clear with the popcorn, blankets, and alcohol that got there,” she said in his speech defending Kevin McCarthy. Democrats immediately began booing and jeering, forcing a call to order in the Room.
Republicans are now on their sixth ballot to vote for a Speaker of the House with no end in sight.
Cammack’s speech wasn’t the only controversial moment in the Room today.

Representative Lauren Boebert called Trump and implored him to tell Kevin McCarthy that he “doesn’t have the votes” and needs to withdraw his name from the race for Speaker of the House. This also caused an audible gasp from the Chamber.
“So we work together,” Boebert said. “Let’s stop the slander and campaign tactics so that people turn against us. My favorite president called to tell us we need to end this,” implying that President Trump has been trying to persuade them against this uprising.
“In fact, I think it should be reversed,” Boebert replied. “Our president needs to tell Kevin McCarthy that ‘sir, you don’t have the votes, and you need to resign,'” Boebert said, drawing loud groans from his fellow House members.
