Ice Cream Truck Driver Gets Life In Prison For Double Murder

After more than a decade, a chilling murder case in Florida has reached its conclusion.

Former ice cream truck driver Michael Keetley was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Keetley was found guilty of murdering two individuals and seriously injuring four others in a horrific incident that took place in 2010.

Following a lengthy legal process, Keetley was convicted in March on two counts of first-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder.

The victims, Juan and Sergio Guitron, aged 28 and 22 respectively, lost their lives that fateful Thanksgiving evening at their home in Ruskin, Florida. In addition, four other individuals suffered critical injuries.

The prosecution argued that Keetley carried out the attack as a misguided act of revenge, stemming from a robbery and shooting he had experienced about a year prior.

Believing that a man known only as ‘Creeper’ was responsible for his own assault, Keetley sought to find him and exact vengeance. However, the prosecution maintained that neither the victims of the shooting nor ‘Creeper’ had any connection to Keetley’s previous ordeal.

Throughout the trial, Keetley’s defense asserted that the survivors had misidentified the attacker. Despite their arguments and motions for a new trial, the judge ultimately delivered a life sentence to Keetley, ensuring that he will spend the remainder of his days behind bars.

Paz Quezada, the mother of the Guitron brothers, delivered a heart-wrenching statement in court, expressing her profound loss and the immense pain that Keetley had inflicted upon her and her family. The sentencing brings a sense of closure to a long and arduous journey for the victims’ loved ones.
