Injured Migrant Woman Rescued in Rugged Arizona Desert Mountains

An injured migrant woman was rescued by Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents after being abandoned in the rugged Arizona mountains near the Mexico border.

In the photos posted by Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin on Twitter, patrol agents can be seen rescuing the injured woman who reportedly called 911 for assistance.

“#Rescued. Several Brian A. Terry Station agents responded to a 911 call in the rugged Huachuca Mts. After locating the injured female Mexican citizen, agents teamed together and carried her to an awaiting ambulance. A heroic team effort. #HonorFirst” Modlin tweeted.

The woman was successfully rescued amid the struggle the agents faced as they hand carried her out of the mountain to an awaiting ambulance due to the surrounding terrain.

According to the reports, the agents identified the woman as a Mexican national and was illegally present in the United States.

Moreover, the Three Points Station BORSTAR agents also spotted a group of migrants north of SR-86 on the same day.

Chief Modlin revealed that the agents called for a helicopter aircrew to assist the ground-based agents to the scene by pinpointing the exact location of the  migrants.

“Spotted from above. An air asset responded to a group of suspected migrants Tucson Sector BORSTAR agents observed north of SR-86 near Three Points, AZ.” Modlin said.

According to the report, a group of 14 migrants were seen by the airgroup and guided the agents to their area.

“They spotted the group and directed agents to the area. A total of 14 migrants were apprehended. Good work.” Modlin stated in his second tweet.

The agents took the migrants into custody and arranged transportation to their station for processing.

The incident involving 14 migrants and the injured woman took place almost two weeks after the Mexican authorities discovered five dead migrants inside a hot train car.

According to the authorities, the migrants were attempting to cross the border into Texas. However, they didn’t make it due to extreme heat inside the train.

The bodies were discovered during the train’s southbound return near the rail crossing between Piedras Negras, Coahuila, and Eagle Pass, Texas after it passed through a scanning device.
