Iran says Bombs Went Off Near The Grave of an Iranian General

Iran says there were several blasts near the grave of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. It’s been four years since he was killed in a US-ordered drone attack in 2020, when President Trump was in office. In honor of his death, this explosion happened.

The Iranian media quickly picked up on this story and spread it all over the country, telling what happened. In Kerman, Iran, the blast killed at least 103 people and hurt another 142. Iran’s news sources spread the story and are now looking for clues about who may have planned the attack.

Reports in the media said that several gas canisters went off on the road that led to the graveyard. They went on to say that these acts were done by terrorists.

It’s said that a terrorist attack happened at a time when Iran, the US, and Israel are fighting with each other. Attacks between Israel and Hamas and claims that Iran attacked US bases in both Iraq and Syria have made things more tense. From Iran’s point of view, this makes a lot of people wonder and worry about who is to blame.

Given that the media confirmed on Tuesday that a top Hamas leader was killed in a drone attack, Israel is the most likely country to be behind this attack. Israel hasn’t said for sure that they were behind the attack, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did say that it was “surgical in nature.”

Ambassador Mark Regev, who is close to Netanyahu, talked about the attack and who he thinks might have done it.

He said the attack was “not even an attack on the terrorist group Hezbollah.” The person or people who did this hit the leadership of Hamas very hard. Now it’s clear that this wasn’t an attack on the Lebanese government, he said.

What the Prime Minister says makes it sound like this attack was only aimed at Hamas and not at a specific state or place. Instead, it was at the General’s funeral and ceremony.
