Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan condemned the radical left’s disregard for human life following the recent mass shooting in Maine.
During an interview on Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance,” Jordan dismissed the critics targeting the Second Amendment in the wake of the 18 people killed in Maine. He added that there are bigger issues in the country, such as a lack of respect for the “sanctity and preciousness of human life.”
“I do think there’s this attitude out there where there’s just not the same respect for the sanctity and the preciousness of human life, and it’s scary,” Jordan told host Eric Bolling. “It’s a cultural thing, it’s a values thing, and it really troubles me.
“Life is a precious gift from God, and we should understand that. But some people for whatever crazy reason, evil reason, just don’t see it that way. And that’s the real thing I think we need to talk about and focus on.”
“And then, of course, the Second Amendment, because the Second Amendment is designed to protect your liberties, protect your family, your property, your rights. We certainly don’t want to diminish those liberties at all,” he continued.
The Ohio congressman went on to blast Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her and some of her constituents’ calls for a ceasefire in Gaza as Israel retaliates against the terrorist organization Hamas.
“I’m as pro-Israel as we can be, and this terrible, sick antisemitic language we see on college campuses is as wrong as wrong could be,” Jordan said. “But in America, we have the First Amendment, so we gotta be awful careful” about censuring lawmakers.
Jordan, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, also gave his insight about whether to censure Tlaib and company for their perceived antisemitic comments amid the 1,400 slaughtered by Hamas inside Israel’s borders.
“One of the things we’ve been doing on the Judiciary Committee is highlighting where the Biden administration was going after Americans labeling their speech as quote, ‘misinformation, disinformation’ when it wasn’t. They went after Robert F. Kennedy [Jr.], their primary presidential primary opponent, the third day of this administration, for tweeting out something that was factual, that was true,” he added.
