Lack of US funding to cause deaths in Ukraine

For a long time, the Biden administration has been trying to send money to Ukraine so that they can keep fighting the war with Russia. There have been many delays with this funding, though, because people couldn’t agree on what should be in the plan.

The government of Ukraine recently said that if the Senate does not accept the US funding package, Ukraine will have to deal with harsh consequences, such as losing lives on the battlefield.

A bill that would send money to Ukraine, and Israel, and help secure the border has been blocked by Republicans in the Senate. It will soon be two years since the war between Russia and Ukraine, which puts a lot of pressure on the US to pass this aid plan.

Russia is said to have fired about 10,000 military shells every day, while Ukraine has only been able to fire about 1,500 to 2,500. Someone who works for Volodymyr Zelenskiy named Mykhailo Podolyak said, “If you know for sure that in three to six months you’ll have a certain number of long-range missiles, for example, you can plan which infrastructure targets to hit on the occupied territories.” And since you have a loss and don’t know what will happen, you can only fight a defensive war right now, which is good for Russia.

Officials are nervous because the U.S. election is coming up, and they know how hard it will be. This upcoming election is risky for Ukraine because no one knows which side Trump will support. Many people are watching from the outside, trying to guess what the results might be.

A lot of people have said that this problem has been going on since Donald Trump was elected. One source in Ukraine said, “It’s very frustrating, even when it comes to Republicans who have always been friendly with Ukraine—classic Republicans.” Now that they know Trump is in charge of the party, many of them are staying away from us.
