President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris is under water after allowing a stand-up comedian to utter Woke ‘jokes’, at the 2023 White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night.
Roy Wood Jr., the stand-up comedian, is currently being criticized as a result of his offensive and “inappropriate” remarks during the event.
He made a comment in defense of drag queens that sparked backlash on social media concerning the school shootings.
In a clip that went viral on social media, the comedian sarcastically stated, “Speaking of drag queens, can we stop with the ‘grooming’ stuff? Can we stop talking about that? Drag queens are not at a school to groom your kids. Stop it. And even if they were, most of them kids are going to get shot at school…”
Many people have expressed outrage over Wood’s joke about school shootings, labeling it offensive and insensitive. Others noted the “awkward silence” that followed the jokes, which they said did not sit well with the audience.

Additionally, Wood Jr. made jokes about Tucker Carlson, Don Lemon’s departure, and even Kamala Harris.
He additionally cracked jokes about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, predicting that he would not be persuaded by humor to change his position on politics.
There has not been a statement from Wood on the scandal, despite numerous social media users calling it “shameful” that the comedian opted to make fun of the situation.
The White House Correspondents’ Association dinner this year contradictorily put the focus on threats to press freedom, giving it a more solemn tone.
The association’s president, Tamara Keith, an NPR White House correspondent, remarked about the hundreds of journalists currently being held throughout the world for the “simple act of doing journalism — which is not a crime.”
The Biden administration is likely the most antagonistic in American history to press freedom.
A mix of politicians, media tycoons, and public figures attended the gala event. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a former governor of California, introduced the event with a pre-recorded video highlighting the significance of a free and independent press.
