Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is calling for the impeachment of President Joe Biden over the president’s mishandling of classified documents.
In a Truth Social post on Monday, Greene said that it was time to “impeach” Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for the southern border crisis.

“Joe Biden has failed the American People and Border Patrol Agents,” she wrote. “The border is the most dangerous crisis in America and fentanyl is killing Americans everyday. Impeach Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas!”
Greene is among the top Republican lawmakers who are seeking the impeachment of Biden for a number of alleged transgressions, including using the White House to improperly persecute former President Donald Trump and for “endangering, compromising, and undermining the energy security of the United States” by selling oil from the country’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve to foreign nations.
Newly elected GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has also expressed support for the idea of impeaching the president.
“Over the last two years of Democrats’ one-party rule in Washington, House Democrats have not lifted a finger to engage in oversight and accountability of the Biden administration’s actions and abuses of power,” McCarthy said. “We will leave no stone unturned in order to deliver the accountability the American people deserve.”
This comes a week after bombshell reports revealed that several classified documents were discovered in Biden’s private office in November. The White House Counsel’s Office later searched the president’s two homes in Wilmington, Delaware, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, following the news of the first documents.
White House lawyers said they immediately contacted the Justice Department when they discovered the second batch of documents inside the Wilmington garage.
“Lawyers discovered among personal and political papers a small number of additional Obama-Biden administration records with classified markings. All but one of these documents were found in storage space in the President’s Wilmington residence garage,” they said in a statement.
A source close to the situation said that less than a dozen secret documents were discovered in Biden’s office. The purpose of the documents and their relevance are currently unknown. Official records and classified records must be turned over by federal officeholders upon leaving government employment, as required by law.
