Migrants Found Under Blanket in Truck Bed near Border in Arizona

According to a news release, the Border Patrol claims they found migrants squeezed inside the closed bed of a 25-year-old Tucson man’s vehicle.

11 migrants were discovered hiding under a blanket in a truck bed by Border Patrol authorities from the Tucson Sector. Two young people were also detained by the agents on suspicion of transporting individuals.

According to a tweet from Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin, Wilcox Station officers stopped a pickup vehicle on Highway 191 for an immigration examination. An inspector noticed feet poking out from under a blanket in the truck’s bed during the inspection.

Before the agent’s canine notified the car, the driver was interrogated by the agent.

According to the press statement, agents forced open a lockable steel hinged door to the truck’s utility bed after the driver claimed he was unable to do so and discovered 11 people.

Eleven migrants were detained when the vehicle was searched, according to Modlin. In addition, the agents detained two young American citizens on suspicion of being human traffickers.

Another tweet from Modlin stated that in Arivaca, Arizona, Tucson Station agents detained a U.S. citizen operating a truck and towing a trailer. Four migrants were found packed into cramped spaces with little ventilation when the authorities searched the vehicle during the traffic inspection.

Agents detained the driver and his American passenger on suspicion of transporting people.

According to the agency, the victims were piled on top of one another with no access to water, air conditioning, or escape routes.

There were many cases of heat sickness. According to the announcement, emergency medical personnel administered fluids, but no more medical attention was required.

Another case from early September reveals at least eight migrants were discovered dead in the Rio Grande after scores of them tried a perilous crossing close to Eagle Pass, Texas.

According to a CBP statement, six of the eight bodies were found by American officials, and two more were found by Mexican personnel.

The biggest disaster to take the lives of migrants smuggled across the border from Mexico occurred in San Antonio in June, when 53 migrants were discovered dead or dying in a tractor-trailer on a quiet road.
