Musk’s Unexpected Departure As Head Of Twitter After Poll Results

Twitter CEO Elon Musk is stepping down from his position after poll results show that a majority don’t want him as the “Chief Twit.”

On Monday, Musk asked Twitter users whether he should step down as the head of Twitter. 61 percent said that he should resign as CEO.

Given that Twitter has always been primarily left-leaning, this is not surprising. There was no way the outcome of a survey with so much attention would have been different. In reaction, others are asserting that Musk committed a mistake and so “owned” himself.

“This is complete madness,” tweeted one user. “Is the goal to please the crowd or to make QUALITY DECISIONS? Since when does increasing the number of decision-makers increase the quality of the decision-making?”

Although some are theorizing that Musk is just trolling the liberals, since he’s got too much going on with his other businesses.

“Seems like Tesla shareholders would really like it if you stopped spending all of your time alienating wealthy libs who love buying Teslas,” tweeted another.

This comes in the wake of leftists expressing their frustration over Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in October. Seven Democrats in the Senate penned a letter to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) last month, asking that it investigate the social media giant.

“We are concerned that the actions taken by Mr. Musk and others in Twitter management could already represent a violation of the FTC’s consent decree, which prohibits misrepresentation and requires that Twitter maintain a comprehensive information security program,” the letter stated.

Musk closed the deal for $44 billion in October and began to reshape the platform that he’s long-criticized over allegations of not being politically neutral by firing several executives. Those fired include chief executive Parag Agrawal and chief financial officer Ned Segal, among others.

“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner,” he tweeted after the completion of the deal.

The billionaire previously tried to buy Twitter in April before canceling in July, saying that he was misled by the company over the number of fake “bot” accounts.
