NATO needs to spend more on defense!

Andrzej Duda, the president of Poland, said that NATO should spend more on defense. Duda talked about this, implying that NATO needs to make sure Russia doesn’t go after them next once the war with Ukraine is over.

He said that plans should be made and more money should be spent on defense because Russia has said they are ready to attack another country in the next few years. Also, he said that studies show that President Putin is increasing Russia’s weapons purchases. In addition, this comes after Danish intelligence said that Russia plans to attack NATO in the next few years.

“We have two or three years to step up our efforts, stockpile ammunition, and make weapons to raise the level of security in Europe, get ready, and stop the invasion,” Duda said.

Since the war in Ukraine started, Poland has been sending more weapons to Kyiv, which has caused them to spend more on their defense. In light of this, Duda recently asked President Joe Biden to raise the goal for defense spending.

A group of officials is meeting to talk about the best way for NATO to escape any more conflicts. Trump’s decision to delay sending aid to Ukraine is causing problems, according to Donald Tusk, the prime minister of Poland. This could be helping Putin’s side. Duda, on the other hand, said that giving any dollar to Ukraine helps stop Russia from winning.

As Duda put it, “This Russian aggression has to stop at all costs.” If it’s not stopped, it will get worse, and I’m afraid that U.S. money won’t be enough to stop Russia. At that point, U.S. soldiers will have to step in, which no one desires.
