New Report Details Officials Preparing For A Mass Migration Event

Biden’s administration has made some changes to U.S. immigration policy. However, it has not changed the most far-reaching border restriction by former President Donald Trump: Title 42, a pandemic-era order that has resulted in the deportation of hundreds of thousands of migrants in just two years.

U.S. intelligence officials secretly expect an enormous flood of over 170,000 migrants across the Mexico border. If COVID-era laws allowing immediate expulsions during public health emergencies are terminated, Axios has learned.

The response includes a newly constructed Southwest Border Coordination Center (SBCC), effectively a war room for interagency coordination.

Title 42 has been utilized over 1 million times to quickly deport people at the southern border. But the Trump-era edict was never meant to last, and Biden officials are planning for its demise once the virus is contained.

DHS believes that 25,000 migrants are already waiting in Mexican shelters just south of the border for Title 42 to terminate.

According to an email received by Axios, DHS Deputy Secretary John Tien invited staff to “consider stepping up to assist the DHS Volunteer Force” to aid U.S. Customs and Border Protection with data input.

Sources talked anonymously to Axios about private internal discussions.

White House spokeswoman Vedant Patel said: “Of course, the Administration is doing our due diligence to prepare for future adjustments at the border.”

It was described as “good government in action.” In addition to assisting immigrants, the Obama Administration strives to modernize our immigration system by bringing it into the 21st century.

Insiders fear that human trafficking networks in Mexico and Central America would exploit the situation to “create a huge migratory scenario.”

Top Biden officials from several departments have been gathering to devise a comprehensive plan to cope with the incoming migrants. Southwest Border Mass Irregular Migration Contingency Plan, DHS.

The strategy is broad, indicating the Biden administration’s concern that a border surge might soon intensify.

In a border emergency, the SBCC will be commanded by Border Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak, according to two people familiar with the plans.

However, top officials from key agencies such as the Departments of State, Justice, Defense, and Health and Human Services are asked to endorse the SBCC.

DHS’s modeling would prompt harsh actions, many of which were employed during previous border surges in 2021 and 2019.

Hundreds of thousands of extra Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Transportation Security Administration, Citizenship and Immigration Services, and Health and Human Services employees might be deployed.

DHS might ask the U.S. Marshals Service for aircraft and the Defense Department for extra air and ground transportation to help move migrants.

The Bureau of Prisons might provide hundreds of buses to transfer migrants between DHS facilities.

They expect to have to extend or build additional soft-sided facilities to accommodate up to 2,000 migrants.

Every month for a year, an exceptionally high number of persons have tried to enter the border. Title 42 is slated to be phased down in the coming months, so officials expect those figures to rise.

The CDC’s Title 42 directive, issued in March 2020 under then-President Donald Trump, utilizes the epidemic as a basis to deport migrants attempting to enter the U.S. without seeking asylum.

Despite progressive Democrats and immigration activists’ protests, the Biden administration has continued to use the policy to turn away migrant families and single people. In contrast, they are trying to eliminate Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, putting migrants into perilous situations by forcing them to wait for asylum hearings in Mexico.

Judge Justin Walker of the D.C. Circuit ruled unanimously that the United States cannot deport migrant families to countries that may risk persecution or torture.

Reuters has reported that the government may repeal Title 42.

As DHS grows more capable of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in its facilities, CDC anticipates more excellent removal of limitations.
