NYC Mayor ROASTS Joe Biden

Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams roasted President Joe Biden for his failure to address the migrant crisis at the southern border.

Speaking at the African American Mayors Association on Wednesday, Adams said that Biden’s migrant crisis is destroying his city.

“The city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis. And none of my folks came to Washington DC to fight for the resources that’s going to undermine every agency in our city,” he said. “If you removed the $4.2 billion dollars that have been dropped into my city because of a mismanaged asylum seeker issue, you would have probably witnessed one of the greatest fiscal turnarounds in the history of New York City.”

“The national government has turned its back on New York City. Every service in this city is going to be impacted by the asylum seeker crisis,” he added.

Political consultant Hank Sheinkopf observed Adams’ comments as him trying to direct the blame toward Biden, whom he’s criticized before.

“They cannot criticize an incumbent president, which is what Adams has done this week,” Sheinkopf said. “They’re thinking: You never come back from attacking the president of your own party.”

This comes as the Biden administration continues to struggle with the massive influx of migrants entering the U.S. from Mexico. The U.S. has been seeing massive migrant numbers since President Joe Biden announced last year that he would be lifting “Title 42,” a controversial border policy implemented by former President Donald Trump back in March 2020 that allowed the border agency to turn migrants away.

New York City Hall has already requested a $654 million FEMA grant to close the city’s budget cap, but the decision won’t be made until May 31. The Office of Budget and Management reports that between July 2022 and March 2023, the city spent $817 million to accommodate migrants pouring in from the southern border.

According to City Hall’s most recent statistics, there are currently 34,800 asylum seekers living in 104 emergency shelters and eight Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers. Within the past year, more than 56,000 migrants have passed through the Big Apple.
