Obama Sends A Warning To Dems

Former President Barack Obama urged Democrats to avoid running campaigns that heavily emphasized former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, instead advising politicians to focus on issues that are important to voters.

The 44th president made the remarks while addressing the forthcoming midterm elections on the podcast Pod Save America, which is run by several of his old White House staff.

Obama advised the four hosts that Democratic candidates in crucial competitive races shouldn’t take the chance of being embroiled in scandals involving their GOP rivals or Trump himself since most people aren’t motivated by such issues to cast their ballots.

Following his guesting on the “Pod Save America” podcast last Friday night, the former president stated, “We spend enormous amounts of energy and money pointing out the next stupid thing he said, or how rude or harsh some of these Republican candidates were.”

The former president made these remarks as he gears up to join Democratic candidates on the campaign road in three crucial states—Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin—in the upcoming weeks.

This month, Obama will visit these three key states to rally support for Democratic candidates running in competitive districts.

Obama remarked upon that program, “The great thing that I think we have going for us is that even with incredibly tiny majorities, what we’ve proved is that we can deliver.”

In light of the fact that President Biden’s favorable rating among American adults is now hanging around 44% going into the midterm elections, Obama is making visits to swing states.

Only 32% of respondents to the survey approve of how the White House is addressing rising prices, and only 36% did so for the economy in general.

While 15% of those surveyed also indicated significant support for his overall work performance.

In the podcast interview, Obama also said that Democrats should be careful to avoid becoming “buzzkills” by making people feel uncomfortable about “stepping on eggshells” in the age of can-can mentality.

Obama, not being one-sided, also praised the Biden administration, saying it has made significant progress for the US, mentioning the infrastructure bill that will aid in rebuilding America and generating employment across the country, the inflation control act that has reduced the cost of prescription drugs, ensured that access to health care is even more inexpensive thanks to the ACA, and is examining ways to reduce energy prices.
