OpenAI’s first office in Asia is now open in Japan!

OpenAI has just opened its first office in Asia. It is in Tokyo, Japan. OpenAI, the company that made ChatGPT, has been talking about going to other countries and becoming more well-known around the world. This would be the first step toward that goal.

“We’re excited to be in Japan, which has a long history of people and technology working together to do more,” said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI. We think AI will speed up work by making people more creative and productive and by adding value to many existing and new businesses that we haven’t even thought of yet.

Tadao Nagasaki has been named president of OpenAI Japan by the company. He or she will be in charge of business and market involvement. The business picked Tokyo because it is a leader in technology and has a community that is open to new ideas.

“As a first step in our long-term commitment to the region, we’re giving local businesses early access to a GPT-4 custom model that is optimized for the Japanese language,” OpenAI said in a statement.

“This custom model works up to three times faster than its predecessor, saves money, and does a better job of translating and summarizing Japanese text,” it said.

A lot of Japanese companies and businesses are now using AI to help them be more efficient and come up with new ideas. A lot of companies, like Microsoft, have put money into the AI platform. These companies are starting to see returns on their investments in the AI system.

Microsoft said, “This is the biggest investment the company has ever made in Japan, and it is also where its first international office is located.”
