A passenger on a Southwest flight reportedly passed out amid a wild turbulence.
According to the reports, a passenger aboard a rocky Southwest Airlines flight to North Carolina passed out because of the turbulence which also left others vomiting.
On Friday night, the plane shook “like crazy,” one complaining passenger said.
Reports revealed that the mayhem broke out after Flight 3094 was hit by wild weather as it was approaching Raleigh-Durham International Airport at the said time.
In an exclusive interview with WNCN, Nicholas Reed, who was traveling with his girlfriend Krys Spence and the passengers aboard the said plane, claimed that “it was quite a horrifying experience. We go to land in Raleigh and the plane starts shaking like crazy.”
“The wings were flapping. They were shaking,” he said in the statement.
In the report published by the New York Post, it was revealed that the “rough landing was eventually aborted at the last second at 1,350 feet, the outlet reported, citing flight data but not before frightened passengers were left sick.”
Moreover, Reed also recounted during the interview that “two people were vomiting pretty close to us” while another passenger had a panic attack and eventually passed out during the shaky approach.
After the chaotic event, the Southwest flight was diverted to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where matters got worse after passengers were held on the aircraft for two hours.
The couple also claimed that following their stay inside the aircraft, they stayed almost four hours inside the empty airport.
“We couldn’t go anywhere because they wouldn’t give us our luggage. One group of guys found a bar and went behind it and just started pouring themselves drinks because there was no security.” Reed said.
On Saturday, at about 1 a.m, another plane finally arrived, flying the passengers to Raleigh where they landed at 4 a.m.
“They didn’t offer us meal vouchers or anything. I was like, ‘We fly Southwest all the time,’” Reed lamented.
Amid the controversy, Southwest Airlines released a statement, claiming that the turbulent landing was due to “weather conditions at RDU.”
“We made the decision to safely divert Southwest flight 3094 (BWI – RDU) to MYR due to weather conditions at RDU. We brought in another crew and aircraft to transport the passengers to their final destination as soon as we were able to safely do so,” the airline said in a statement.
