Rep Hits Biden With A Massive Big Tech Collusion Lawsuit

Everyone knows that the government has no authority to control individuals’ private speech. We all understand what the First Amendment says. The First Amendment does not generally apply to private limits on free speech imposed by non-governmental groups.

It’s possible that President Joe Biden and his team won’t be able to withstand a lawsuit they’re up against.

Biden and several of his senior aides are said to have pressed and collaborated with Big Tech to stifle speech in the complaint, according to Fox News.

Eric Schmitt (R), Missouri’s attorney general, and Jeff Landry (R), Louisiana’s attorney general, filed the complaint only last week. Federal District Court, Western District of Louisiana, is where it was filed.

President Biden, departing White House press secretary Jen Psaki, and Dr. Anthony Fauci are among those named in the case.

According to Schmitt and Landry, social media corporations Meta (Facebook), Twitter, and YouTube collaborated with the Biden administration to block politically undesirable tales.

They include, for example, the Hunter Biden laptop controversy, the likelihood that the COVID-19 pandemic was caused by a Chinese lab leak, and the chance that mail-in voting in the 2020 presidential election was less secure than Democrats had stated.

Legally, the Biden administration partnered with these social media corporations to limit content “under the pretense of countering disinformation,” according to Landry and Schmitt. It is possible to find several instances.

Overall, it’s claimed that the Biden administration broke the Constitution’s free speech section by doing so. The goal is to abolish the left’s restriction of free expression.

In addition to Biden, Psaki, and Fauci, the lawsuit names DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the CDC, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Jen Easterly as defendants.

It’s a huge lawsuit, to say the least.

In response to the complaint, neither Biden nor anybody else named in the claim has issued a public remark. Then then, so have Schmitt and Landry.

Landry retorted:

While both Biden’s Big Tech and the government’s Big Government are supposed to defend Americans’ liberties, they are instead working to suppress the truth and demonize individuals who disagree with their views. Biden and Big Tech are using Stalin’s playbook to restrict free expression and propagandize the public. To maintain the rule of law and prevent the government from enforcing unlawful restrictions on free expression, we are taking action.

Collaboration between companies is not always unlawful collusion, and there may be tacit understandings surrounding a variety of problems, including rivalry for talent, that might not amount to illegal collusion at all. In certain industries, these encounters might be argued over in terms of their influence or usefulness, but they are common and often provide best practices for dealing with complex challenges. Another hurdle before the midterm elections for Biden.
