During today’s White House press briefing, a tense confrontation unfolded when New York Post reporter Steven Nelson expressed his frustration to Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for not taking his questions for an extended period.
Clearly exasperated by the situation, Nelson began his impassioned plea with, “You haven’t called on me in two seasons, Karine.”
In response, Jean-Pierre offered a curt “Go ahead,” providing Nelson with an opportunity to voice his concerns.
Nelson wasted no time in addressing his concerns, saying, “You should be ashamed of that! That shows disrespect to a free and independent media.”
He continued, “It’s one of our country’s largest and most widely read newspapers, Karine. That shows contempt for a free and independent press.”
The heated exchange went viral on social media, with netizens blasting Jean-Pierre, calling her a “witch.”
“Why do they even show up. Just bypass this process. One can find information elsewhere. She’s just a liar,” one netizen lamented.
“At this point, why would anyone expect any differently?” another added.
“The most transparent administration in history lol, transparently dishonest and one sided,” a netizen said.

Karine Jean-Pierre, like President Biden, has faced criticism for not always engaging in substantive dialogue during press briefings.
Some observers contend that this selective approach to questions fosters an atmosphere where certain media outlets may feel in and out of favor. This sentiment highlights the challenges of maintaining a robust, open, and responsive relationship between the government and the free press.
This is not the first time that Jean-Pierre ignored controversial questions from the media.
Last month, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy slammed Jean-Pierre after the latter refused to answer his question.
“So what do you call it here at the White House when 10,000 people illegally cross the border in a single day?” Doocy asked.
“What do YOU call it…when GOP put forth a – wait No! – No, no, no! – I tried to answer the question. You stopped me.” Jean-Pierre yelled.
The conversation also went viral on social media, with netizens, slamming Jean-Pierre.
“So this will be KJPs new strategy for dodging questions. What a pathetic joke. If Trump’s WH press secretaries stopped answering questions every time they were interrupted the room would have gone berserk,” one netizen said.
“Deflect and gaslight….the Biden admin way,” another netizen added.
“She can’t answer the question,” a Twitter user continued.
