Russian Figure Skater’s Positive Drug Test After Winning Gold

The International Olympic Committee has delayed the medal ceremony for the team figure skating competition on Tuesday after one Russian skater tested positive for drugs.

Reports revealed that the Russian skater has tested positive on a drug test after winning gold in the three-day team event that ended on Monday.

The skater was later identified as 15-year-old superstar Kamila Valieva, after Russian media outlets reported that she tested positive for a banned drug named “Trimetazidine” following the ceremony that had already been postponed.

According to the reports, the official medal ceremony that was supposed to honor the ROC, United States and Japan was pulled from the schedule without explanation.

“Let’s, for the sake of understanding, wait for some explanations either from our sports officials or from the IOC,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained
