Seattle Was Chosen As The Least Religious City

A survey by the U.S. Census Bureau called Household Pulse found that Seattle, Washington was the least religious big city in the US.

Over 60% of people who live in Seattle don’t go to religious services, according to a poll done in January by thousands of people. One of the 15 biggest cities in the United States is Seattle, Washington. San Francisco is the second least religious big city.

A Seattle news source said, “It’s not surprising that three Sunbelt cities have the lowest percentage of nonreligious residents among large metros. The southern parts of the U.S. tend to be more religious.” Another thing that a lot of people talked about was how most states are split, with more religious people living in rural places and fewer near cities. But in Seattle, it looks like both the city and the countryside are not religious.

All of Washington state came in at number five on the list of the least religious states. Vermont and Maine, on the other hand, were at the top of the list. Because of this, a lot of people might find these numbers strange or think they have nothing to do with the whole population, but that’s not the case. It has been found that almost half of Americans either don’t go to religious services at all or go less than once a year.

The news source said, “The survey results show that only 35% of Black people across the country never or almost never go to services. This is the lowest percentage of any racial or ethnic group.” Most of the people who were there were white (54%). The poll also found that younger people are more likely to not be religious, while older people are more likely to be religious.
