Security videos captured a Tesla crashing into a convention center on May 4.
According to the reports, the incident occured at the Greater Columbus Convention Center when the electric car Tesla ran a redlight at 70mph and crashed into the front of the convention center, causing over $300,000 worth of damage.
Although the vehicle reportedly belonged to the Yellow Cab Company, the driver was later identified as 63-year-old Frantz Jules.
Another footage that captured the incident in a different angle showed the 2020 Tesla Model S ramming into the side of the building.
Moreover, in a separate video footage, the inside shows the damaged car skidding to a stop. The same footage also captured the bystanders running to help the driver.
In a report filed by the authorities, Jules revealed that he already lost control of the brakes before driving off the highway and claimed that the vehicle stayed at a steady 70 mph until the crash.
Following the incident, the driver was transported to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Jules was cited for a failure to control his vehicle. However, the Franklin County Municipal Court made it clear in the report that neither drugs nor alcohol were a cause of the accident.
