Driving Under the Influence of alcohol is a crime punishable by the law, yet those who work for the law are sometimes the ones caught doing it. An example would be Tre Hargett.Â
After exiting a music event, Tennessee’s Republican Secretary of State was pulled over and charged with driving under the influence.
Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett stated that he was detained for DUI on Friday night after leaving the Bonnaroo Music Festival. “I regret the circumstances that led to my arrest for DUI, which is a serious offense. I have faith in the judicial system and law enforcement and will continue to do so in the future.”

According to jail records, Hargett was arrested shortly after midnight on Saturday and released a few hours later.
WKRN-TV reports that Hargett will appear in court on July 14.
Previously, Hargett served as a member of the Tennessee General Assembly for almost a decade. According to the Secretary of State’s website, he was first elected secretary of state in 2009 and then reelected in 2013, 2017, and 2021. Hargett serves as the Department of State’s chief executive officer, overseeing more than 300 workers.
Hargett’s office did not immediately return a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
This year’s annual Bonnaroo Music Festival kicked off Thursday and is set to wrap up on Tuesday.
J. Cole, Tool, 21 Savage, Robert Plant, and Gryffin are artists set to perform at the festival.
In response to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, a representative of the Bonnaroo Music Festival did not immediately respond.
It was not only Hargett that committed DUI. Three weeks ago, According to the California Highway Patrol and court records, Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, was arrested late Saturday night in their native California, accused of drunk driving following a two-vehicle collision.
As Pelosi, 82 years old, attempted to cross a state road in Napa County in a 2021 Porsche, she was struck by a 2014 Jeep, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Two DUI charges were filed against Pelosi, and she was taken into custody at the Napa County Detention Center.
Court records show that he was released on a $5,000 bond early Sunday morning.
