Texas Governor Greg Abbott wants illegal immigrants to be transported from Texas to D.C in response to US President Joe Biden’s policy to open up borders for illegals.
During a press conference recently, Governor Abbott announced that he would be bussing those illegals that volunteered on charter buses from the state to D.C.
“With the Biden administration ending Title 42 expulsions in May, Texas will be taking its own unprecedented actions this month to do what no state in America has ever done in the history of this country to better secure our state, as well as our nation.” Abbott said.
Abbott also expressed his concerns to the communities in Texas that are being “overwhelmed” with “hordes of illegal immigrants,” being dropped off in the state.
“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed with hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington, D.C.” Abbott added.
He then insisted that he would want them to be transported to Washington D.C and have the US president address the needs of the people crossing the border.
“We are sending them to the United States capital where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border.” Abbott continued.
Moreover, following Abbott’s announcement, reports revealed that Texas has begun “sending buses to border communities” so they can transport the immigrants to Washington D.C.
According to the news report published by the Fox News, Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) Chief of Media and Communications, Seth Christensen announced that the management has already dispatched their buses.
“In the last 24 hours, TDEM has dispatched buses to areas where communities have expressed concerns about the federal government dropping off migrants and has the capability to send as many as is necessary to fulfill the requests from mayors and county judges.” Christensen said in the statement.
“From the [Rio Grande Valley] to Terrell County, a large majority of the communities that originally reached out for support through this operation have now said that the federal government has stopped dropping migrants in their towns since the governor’s announcement on Wednesday.” He added.
