The idea of giving Ukraine aid from the US is once again being talked about

That problem with government funds is now fixed, so the government can focus on other things. The US has once again put forward a plan for a Ukraine aid package.

This aid package has been planned and talked about for months. The U.S. wants to send a package to their allies with plans to send military help. House Speaker Mike Johnson didn’t move this funding bill until the government cleared its own funding. He did this even though Kyiv put a lot of pressure on him to get the aid faster so that they could stay in the war.

The Senate has already passed the bill, and officials have continued to show support for Ukraine. However, some lawmakers on the right were against the aid plan. The vote might not go over well with Trump fans and Republicans in the White House. Trump did say that Ukraine should get a loan with no interest, which Johnson agreed with.

Supporter of Trump said, “During my meeting with President Zelenskiy, I told him that given the crisis at the U.S. southern border and our huge debt, President Trump’s idea of turning aid from the U.S. into a no-interest, waivable loan is the most likely way forward.”

This deal is still controversial, especially since Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, has spoken out against countries helping Ukraine. Many officials and lawmakers are afraid of what that could mean for us if the aid is accepted.

There is already a lot of criticism of the House Speaker. If he goes ahead with the vote, it could make things even worse for him as speaker. There is already a motion against him to remove him as speaker. This was meant to be a warning if he went ahead with the Ukraine funding plan, though.
