The whole country is experiencing very cold temperatures?!

Because of an icy blast, the United States can expect this cold weather to last for a while longer.

The whole week has been very cold, and this will likely continue into the weekend, with record-low temperatures in some parts of the country. Across the country, winter weather has pushed back events like the Iowa State Caucus and an NFL game.

Tens of millions of people have been warned about wind chill and cold weather as of Monday. According to the National Weather Service, wind chills could drop the temperature 30 degrees below zero in places like Kansas and Iowa.

Tens of thousands of people don’t have power, and at least four people have died. Games and events have been canceled in some places because of the blizzard conditions. Governor Kathy Hochul of New York even shared a video that showed how bad the weather was, with strong winds and poor vision.

Someone could get $20 an hour to come out and shovel snow at Highmark Stadium, according to the Buffalo Bills. They would also be given food and breaks in a warm place. At a rate of 2 inches per hour, snow covered the whole field.

The fourth-coldest game in NFL history was also between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins. People will feel sub-zero wind chills as this storm hits.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said in a statement that frostbite can happen in just a few minutes and that people should stay inside when the temperature drops.

As a result of the winter storm, Texas even issued a statement telling its citizens to use less energy. Texas had a big power outage in 2021 that hurt a lot of people in the state, so they were extra careful with this storm.

Major tragedies have happened all over the country because of this weather. For example, in Portland, over 100 trees fell, causing a lot of damage and killing several people. Someone died in a fire started by a falling tree, and two others died of being too cold.

Huge problems happened at airports as well. In cities like Chicago and Denver, planes were canceled or delayed.
