New data shows that at least 6,200 illegal immigrants are crossing into the U.S. every day, thanks to President Joe Biden’s failed border policies.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), nearly 87,000 illegal aliens entered the country through the southern border without being apprehended in October alone.
“Agents have reason to believe those who have criminal records or are on the terror watch list are among those sneaking through,” FAIR President Dan Stein said in a statement.
Figures also suggest that around 105,000 illegal aliens were released into the U.S. by the Biden administration as part of its expansive catch and release network. Together, this brings the total preliminary number of border crossers who entered American communities to about 192,000, just for the month of October.
“The primary responsibility of the federal government is to protect Americans and our interests,” Stein said. “President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have knowingly, willfully, and consistently violated that responsibility. We have never seen such numbers in our history, and the Biden administration’s open-borders policies are solely to blame.”
“These are numbers the American people have a right to see within what was once a traditional time window, and we are glad to assist,” Stein continued. “The Biden administration cannot continue to cover up what is happening by waiting until after business hours in the second half of the following month to release its data,” he continued.
The U.S. has been seeing massive migrant numbers since the Biden administration announced in April that it would be lifting “Title 42,” a controversial border policy implemented by former President Donald Trump back in March 2020 that allowed the border agency to turn migrants away.
Since then, the Customs and Border Protection has reported that the number of migrant encounters this fiscal year has already reached over 2 million, breaching the already-historic 1.7 million encounters last year.
Stein suggested that Republican lawmakers impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, should they control both houses of Congress following this week’s midterm elections.
“Secretary Mayorkas continues to purposefully ignore our nation’s immigration laws while abandoning policies of the previous administration that were designed to keep our borders secure and the American people safe,” he said. ”On that basis alone, Mayorkas must be brought up on impeachment charges in the next Congress.”
