Moscow accused the Ukrainian forces of blowing up Russia’s huge oil depot in an airstrike attack on Friday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin then released a warning, declaring that the attack could hamper the ongoing peace talks between the two former Soviet members.
However, Ukraine officials denied the allegations, claiming they had “nothing to do with the bombing.”
“For some reason, they say that we did it, but according to our information, this does not correspond to reality,” Ukrainian Security Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said, denying their involvement in the Friday bombing on national TV.

According to Agence France-Presse, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during the interview that Ukraine was responsible for the unexpected bombing.
“Of course, this is not something that can be perceived as creating comfortable conditions for the continuation of negotiations,” Peskov said.
A flurry of rockets were seen in Belgorod, around 6am on Friday, a huge fire raged at the storage depot about 21 miles from Ukraine’s border.
“The fire at the oil depot occurred as a result of an airstrike from two helicopters of the armed forces of Ukraine, which entered the territory of Russia at a low altitude,” Belgorod regional Gov. Vyacheslav Gladkov announced.
According to the local officials, the company made it clear that “all workers were quickly evacuated, and at least 170 emergency workers were tackling the blaze.”
