On Thursday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was questioned by several reporters about allegations made yesterday by an IRS whistleblower who said the feds are shielding Hunter Biden from potential tax burdens.
On Wednesday, an anonymous agent alleged political interference by Joe Biden-appointed federal prosecutors in a prosecutor’s criminal case involving his son Hunter. When asked about the White House’s message to those wondering whether political considerations should be made when the president’s family is involved, KJP responded by saying, “I want to be very clear here. As you know, the President respects the rule of law and the independence of the Justice Department. He believes that’s what they should be.”
Another reporter asked if the president was confident that his attorney general had complied with all ethical obligations related to the investigation.

KJP responded, “Again, the President has always been clear on the campaign, throughout his presidency, that the Justice Department must have independence, must not be politicized, and must be able to do its job independently.” essentially”.
The whistleblower provided legally protected information to the IRS, the US Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, and the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General. The revelations contradict sworn testimony before Congress by a senior political official and imply a failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest.
Due to some disclosures containing confidential information protected by law, the complainant refrained from sharing certain information even with his lawyer. Jean-Pierre first broke his silence on the case during a visit to CNN this morning, though he didn’t say much at the time.
Despite the risks of retaliation, the whistleblower wishes to make disclosures impartially to relevant committee leaders on both sides of the political spectrum. They have asked that the committees work with them to facilitate information sharing with Congress legally and with the advice of a fully informed adviser.
