A woman attacked three agents of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on Tuesday.
According to Fox 10 Phoenix, 19-year-old Makiah Coleman grew irate and bit the TSA agents after they removed her apple juice at a security checkpoint.
“[Coleman] was ranting and raving about the apple juice and walks around the barrier and attempts to grab the bin containing her items being screened from the TSA agent,” read the probable cause statement obtained by the news outlet.
Coleman allegedly climbed over a table, punched and pulled the hair of one agent, then knocked him in the head. According to the document, a third agent attempted to stop her by intervening, but was bit by the insane woman.
According to the TSA, officials had to close the checkpoint to deal with Coleman, which inconvenienced hundreds of travelers and resulted in the hospitalization of two of the employees.
“Unfortunately, this situation not only resulted in three of our TSA officers being injured but inconvenienced approximately 450 travelers who had to be redirected to a nearby checkpoint for security screening due to the actions of this traveler,” a TSA spokesperson said in a statement.
Coleman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage, and disorderly conduct, while the two agents hospitalized were released after treatment.
The story received wild responses on social media, with netizens poking fun at Coleman and the absurdity of the incident.
“She’s smiling so the police must have given her apple juice because she must have been a good girl,” one Twitter user wrote, referencing her mugshot, where the suspect can be seen smiling.
“If a [motherf***r] smile at me like that, I’m [giving] her the damn juice back. I don’t need to be upsetting some demon over juice, [for f***’s sake. I got enough going on,” wrote another of her bizarre mugshot.
Others, meanwhile, condemned her actions and said that she deserved to be on the No Fly List. “Just think if she pulled that [s***t] while cruising at 30,000 feet,” one user wondered. “Add her name to the permanent no fly list.”
