AI bias and how to fight it are talked about by experts

Google recently got rid of an AI system called Gemini because it gave users unfair results when they asked for them. Since then, there has been a lot of worry about how companies are handling bias in AI and how to better control AI to get better results.

Tata Consultancy Services’ Siva Ganesan, who runs the AI Cloud business unit, said, “Companies need to get past bias if they want to get the most out of this powerful technology.”

“But depending on the data that Gen AI is trained on, the model learns and shows that in the results,” he said.

A lot of experts say that the best way to make sure that your company’s AI tools don’t have any bias is to build and focus on a responsible AI from the start. There’s also something important to know about how the system decides what to do and how it gives results. You should be able to figure out why it gave those results for a certain question.

Ritu Jyoti from The International Data Corp said, “Companies should put money into creating AI techniques that are easy to explain so that users can understand why AI-generated content is the way it is.”

On top of all this, businesses need to focus on building a broad AI system. The people who work on the program need to be from different backgrounds. This is a big help in making a system that is fair for everyone.

Some experts say that biased results happen when the data is skewed or pushed in one way. This can make your system give answers based on a small set of data and lack of variety.
