AI will be used for content on the Chinese platform iQiyi

The Chinese video streaming service iQiyi has been focusing on its older users and wants to change its business plan to include AI. As iQiyi has said, one of their main goals is to make their products better for older people in their country.

It looks easy, but it’s not. For the past 10 to 20 years, the goal has been to serve young people and not be traditional, said CEO and founder Gong Yu.

He went on to say that older people are spending a lot less time on social media because the screens are hurting their eyesight and making it hard for them to do things like read small text. He also said that they think one-fourth of their population will be older by 2033, and that number could keep going up. As a whole, China is getting older because people are living longer and having fewer children.

The CEO also talked about the kids. He said that each one is even more important now that there are fewer of them and that they will spend time making better content for them.

Their chief technology officer, Liu Wenfeng, said that they would be “embracing AI.” He even showed off some of the company’s tools that could be used to make a shot look like it was taken by more than one camera. He also talked about how parts of the shot could be used again in other places, like the Metaverse.

Wenfeng also said that AI could make them more productive by helping them read books and figure out which types of entertainment viewers didn’t like as much. They went on to say that AI would also help the creators, but they are trying to keep their AI tools secret, so we don’t know any more about them.

The company also wants to get into other areas since they are just starting to make money and want to grow in the future.
