High-Speed Bullet Train that goes from Las Vegas to Los Angeles?!

Soon, a new $12 billion bullet train will connect Los Angeles to Las Vegas. It will be the first real high-speed bullet train in the United States. The company building the high-speed train says they expect a lot of people to pay a lot of money to ride it when it opens in 2028.

“For decades, Americans have wanted high-speed train…The U.S. Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, said, “This time it’s real.”

Buttigieg said that the Biden government backs it because it will create thousands of jobs and help the local economies. The business says it wants these trains to go faster than 186 miles per hour. This speed range is about the same as the Shinkansen trains in Japan.

Brightline Holdings’ founder, Wes Edens, said, “I believe we’ll look back at today and say, ‘This was the birth of an industry of high-speed rail.'” Her company made the plans.

The business’s main goal is to connect places that are too far apart to drive to or too expensive to fly to. People who are moving between bigger cities could also use it as an alternative way to get around.

This would be the first bullet train for both Los Angeles and Las Vegas. For Las Vegas, it’s an even bigger step because they don’t have Amtrak.

And finally, the government hopes that this train will help reduce some of the traffic in this area by giving people another way to get around. Plans for this have been in the works for a while, but the final step won’t happen until they get all the permits and permissions they need.
